Peter Mundle: Unofficial Single-Age Records 1971 to 1979

Thank you to Peter Mundle for permission to share the 1972 through 1979 editions, and Jack Shepard for permission to share the 1971 through 1975 Age Records editions. The 1971 through 1979 editions are being posted as a courtesy of Track & Field News, Mountain View, Calif., Ed Fox, publisher emeritus.

Peter Mundle’s Unofficial Single-Age Records in the back of the booklets (link below) listed the “M40” American Records the following years:
1978 through 1999.  1978 listed in the 1979 booklet, and 1999 listed in the 2000 booklet.

Notes found in the 1972 Edition:  Hugh Gardner devoted thousands of hours (15 years) of obtaining information
to compile the 1971 and 1972 Editions.  Hugh Gardner passed April 1971.  Gary Hill, Jack Shepard, and other
contributed to issue the 2nd Annual 1972 Edition.   Note found in the 1973 thru 1975 Editions: Compiled by Jack Shepard,
Wally Donovan, Peter Mundle, and others.

 

1963 International Age List:

Prior to the 1971 Age Records by Hugh Gardner:    During 1963,  Hugh Gardner’s “International Age List” was printed
by “Track Newsletter” (owned by Track and Field News).  It included marks up to age 32 (on some events up to age 42).

1955 Note:

Per “Track Newsletter” (owned by Track and Field News) Vol 2, No 1; Aug 6, 1955:
Emerson Case of Schenectady, NY was starting to compile “best marks at each age level” compilation.
This would be youth  …  plus.
