Note: In 1971 Bob Fine (New York) assisting creating a separate group for Masters within the AAU (Amateur Athletic Union) organization.  The December 1970 AAU National Convention approved the 1971 separation.   The AAU later evolved into what we have today, the USATF (Jan 1993 NMN, PDF, pg 5 of 28).
